Installation instructions

Flow Powered by Amazon works on any Android devices (requires Android 4.0 or later). You can also install and run this application on your PC or Mac by using an Android emulator app. Here's how to do it:

Install Flow Powered by Amazon on Android devices

Select one of the two options below, depending on the type of file you downloaded from this page.

Install APK file

Find and select the APK file. Tap 'Install' when the APK installer menu shows up. Afterwards, complete the installation by following any additional instructions that appear on-screen.

Install XAPK file

To install a .XAPK file, first download and install the Split APKs Installer (SAI) application. Then, open the SAI app and choose the "Install APKs/XAPK" option. Locate the .XAPK file you wish to install and click 'Install.'

Install Flow Powered by Amazon on Windows 10/11 and Mac

This app can be operated on a computer with an Android emulator. While there are various emulators available, this tutorial uses BlueStacks, which is compatible with both Mac and Windows systems.

Installing BlueStacks is straightforward. Simply download the installer from the BlueStacks website and run it. Be aware that the installer is large and setting up the engine might take some time.

If you don't have other programs associated with APK/XAPK file types, BlueStacks will open these files by default. To install an app, either double-click the APK/XAPK file or drag-and-drop it onto the BlueStacks home screen. Then, confirm the installation. Once installed, the app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen.

That's all! You've now successfully installed Flow Powered by Amazon on your PC Windows and Mac using BlueStacks.

Flow Powered by Amazon is an augmented reality app that lets you discover information about items around you. With Flow, you can identify tens of millions of products, including books, DVDs, and packaged household items like a box of cereal or a box of tissues. You can also scan phone numbers, URLs, email addresses and business cards and then quickly dial, open or add the information to your contacts.

To get started, point your camera at:
- Book covers
- Video games
- DVDs & CDs
- Packaged goods like games and toys
- A box of cereal.
Flow will also decode:
- UPC barcodes
- QR codes
- Phone numbers, web and email addresses
- Business cards

New with 2.4, Flow now supports business card scanning, allowing you to recognize multiple business cards without having to change screens. You can scan in both portrait and landscape orientation, just try to fill the screen with as much of the card as you can.

Flow uses A9.com's continuous scan technology to automatically recognize items, and overlay information using augmented reality.

Once you launch the app, aim your camera towards the items you want to identify. Flow will begin recognizing items immediately. Move your phone over one or more items, and information is automatically delivered to the screen.

As with earlier releases, Flow helps you discover more about products available on Amazon.com. If you want to learn more about a product, or find out about related items, or read customer reviews, tap on the product information preview that appears on the screen. You can also share product details with friends via email, or Twitter, or make purchases on Amazon.com. For some products, Flow will display media previews, like audio clips or video clips that can be viewed almost instantly.

Flow’s History feature gives you access to all your scanned items, sorted by date, product category, item name, or scan type.
